Art Scramble: A Creative Community Collaboration

On September 21st, the Town & Country Shopping Center was buzzing with creativity and community spirit at We Care Arts', Art Scramble, presented by Molina Healthcare. This unique competition brought together seven teams, each tasked with creating a piece of artwork using items they collected from various sponsor locations and additional items donated by Rocky's Ace Hardware.  Participants embarked on a scavenger hunt of sorts, gathering materials from 20 different sponsor locations. These items ranged from flooring samples to bowling pins to books to pizza boxes, providing a diverse array of textures, shapes and colors for the teams to work with.  With only two hours to complete their projects, the pressure was on, but the results were nothing short of spectacular.

The judging didn't end on the day of the event. The top three pieces were chosen by our 4 judges on the day of the event but all of the teams had an opportunity to win the Artie S. Cramble trophy in the crowdfunding contest that followed the event.  After a week of crowdfunding, Team Mindy with Zoology won the trophy.  It's no surprise that Team Mindy also won the the Judges Award. We were excited to present the trophy on Good Day Dayton the following week.
