Subject: The Art of Community – Redefining Possibilities
The impact of support and event attendance…
Dear Friends of We Care Arts,
What happens when you bring together our talented artist-clients with incredible local, community artists? Pure magic! And on Friday, February 28th, at our Black & White Gala: Together We Care, you’ll have the chance to witness that magic firsthand through stunning collaborative artwork created just for this event. But as you know, events like our Gala are more than just a night of art and celebration, events help to make everything we do at We Care Arts possible.
Looking back on 2024, YOUR impact on our community was undeniable. Your generosity and unwavering support—whether replacing our roof in a time of need, donating from our Wish List, or attending events like the Gala—make all the difference.
Later this year, I will be excited to share all the numbers of growth and impact at our Stakeholders event, where we will debut our 2024 Annual Report. But today, I want to share a Mission Moment with you because, at the heart of our mission, it isn’t just the numbers—it’s the individual artist-clients we serve.
At least once a year, We Care Arts meets with each of our artist-clients to discuss and set their life and art goals. We look back on their teachers’ notes and reflect on their accomplishments. During these meetings, we hear incredible stories of growth—not just in artistic skills, but in confidence, connection, and self-advocacy.

In one recent artist-client redetermination meeting the review highlighted how they had expanded their artistic knowledge through We Care Arts ArtWORKS curriculum. They discussed learning color theory, still life sketching, and working with new mediums like wood grain art, gold and silver leaf, abstract sculpture, and watercolor techniques. Their year-end summary highlighted how they developed skills in collaboration, experimentation, and reflection through our classes. Over the past year, they recognized their own strengths, built self-esteem, and developed a social support network. At the end of the redetermination meeting, the artist-client had decided to refine their art and life goals. What began a year ago at intake as "make friends and talk less" evolved into "improve painting skills, explore new mediums, and strengthen social connections."
THIS is what YOUR SUPPORT makes possible. Whether through donations, grants, sponsorships, or attending events like our Gala, you are ensuring that art continues to empower, heal, and inspire. Thank you you’re your commitment to redefining the possibilities for our artist-clients and our entire community!
See you at our Gala—where creativity shines and together we are redefining possibilities!
