Cones For A Cause Supports Transition To Work

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with our community! We Care Arts has been awarded a generous grant from Old Scratch, Cones For A Cause, which will significantly bolster our Transition to Work program. This grant represents not only financial support but also a heartfelt endorsement of our mission to empower healing through art and community for  individuals with develpmental disabilities, substance use disorders and mental health diagnoses.

About We Care Arts and Our Mission

At We Care Arts, we believe in the transformative power of the arts and the potential of every individual. Our mission is to inspire and support people with disabilities to achieve greater independence and personal fulfillment. Through art, we provide a creative outlet for self-expression, skill development, and social engagement. Our programs are designed to enhance the lives of participants, enabling them to integrate into the community and thrive in their personal and professional lives.

Transition to Work Program

The TTW program, established by the state, is designed to assist students with special needs, aged 16 to 22, in their transition from high school to employment and independent living. We Care Arts supplements this vital in-school program by offering weekly art classes that reinforce essential life and job skills. These classes are provided at no cost to the students, schools, or districts.

Each participating student receives an individual bag containing all the necessary art supplies for their projects, along with a corresponding teacher bag. Additionally, WCA provides YouTube instructional video links for each art project in the kit, ensuring a comprehensive and accessible learning experience.
