We Care Arts Thanksgiving Party: A Celebration of Art and Community

Last week, We Care Arts hosted its annual Thanksgiving party, bringing together the artist-clients and staff for a festive afternoon of food and creativity. This year’s party featured a special craft: yarn art. Everyone had a blast creating pumkins and acorns, using colorful yarns and other materials.

The delicious food was made possible thanks to a grant from the Altrusa Club of Dayton, a nonprofit organization that champions literacy, education, and community service. The spread included classic Thanksgiving dishes like turkey, stuffing, and mashed pototoes and plenty of desserts, which were generously donated by local business BaseTek, LLC.

The highlight of the party was seeing the artists’ faces light up as they created their yarn art pieces. We Care Arts provides a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities or other challenges to explore their creativity, express themselves, and connect with others. The Thanksgiving party is just one example of the many events and programs that We Care Arts offers throughout the year.

Check out the photos from the party to see the amazing yarn art creations and the joy on everyone’s faces. We are grateful for the generosity of Altrusa and BaseTek, as well as the amazing artist-clients and staff who make We Care Arts such a wonderful community.
