Valentines with the WCA Optimists

As many of you may have heard, We Care Arts started up our very own Optimists club, for clients, right here in our studio on Wilmington Pike. Members of our club gain opportunities to network, plan community projects, socialize and expand their skills and interests among peers.

We used our January meeting to create Valentines to be handed out to show appreciation of fellow We Care Arts peers, teachers and staff. The club members wrote inspiring messages to share with their friends to share on Valentine’s Day. Everyone is unique in their own way, and our members wanted to ensure that everyone feels appreciated and loved for who they are.

    Optimists is a great place to find support and to give back to the community. Our members have enjoyed the initial meetings and cannot wait to see what is to come in 2019.

    As a 501c3 organization with 38 years of experience, We Care Arts increases confidence and artistic skill in a variety of individuals with varying disabilities and physical challenges. Our founder Terry Schalnat began in 1983, changing disabilities into possibilities in the basement of a recreation center.

    Since then, We Care Arts has grown to serve 1400 clients at more than forty off-site locations within the greater Dayton area. Alongside our executive director, our volunteer staff and board contribute more than 28,000 hours annually to our mission.
