Hello everyone!

I’m Lacey, the Art Curator at We Care Arts, and I’m excited to share what we’ve got planned for March.

Our Production Class is gearing up to create medals for the upcoming “Run for Lily” charity 5k Run/Walk. This event will take place on Sunday, April 13th, at 10 a.m. at Fairborn Community Park. It’s being held in memory of Lily, who tragically lost her life in a car accident in December 2022. All proceeds from the race will go toward supporting Lily’s scholarship fund.

Additionally, we’ll be part of a special new event at the 2nd Street Market called “Gift of Down Syndrome,” which will be an annual celebration in honor of National Down Syndrome Awareness Day. This event will provide our Artist-Clients with Down Syndrome a wonderful platform to showcase their incredible artwork. We invite you to come support and see their work on Saturday and Sunday, March 21st and 22nd. I’ll also be updating the art currently on display at Eudora to celebrate Women’s History Month. This will be a great opportunity to showcase artwork that honors the incredible contributions of women. Additionally, I’ll be refreshing our gallery walls here at the Berkley Center to bring in a vibrant, spring-inspired theme.

As Edgar Degas once said, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” This is a sentiment that truly speaks to my heart, and I hope you’ll be able to join us for these meaningful events.
