Introducing Rick Willits: We Care Arts’ New Director of Community Engagement

We Care Arts is proud to announce the newest addition to our team, Rick Willits, as the Director of Community Engagement. Rick brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in the fields of education, executive search, development, and career services. We are excited to have him on board to lead our community engagement efforts.

Rick’s journey began when he graduated from Saint Joseph’s College with a degree in marketing and secondary education. During the 1990s, he taught at Alter High School, where he gained valuable experience in education. Later on, in the 2000s, he switched gears and went into executive search, focusing on the printing and graphic arts industries.

“Rick is an excellent addition to our We Care Arts’ Team. I am thrilled to have him join us to lead our community engagement department because he is someone who brings a lot of experience, passion, and a true understanding of the importance of building relationships to his role here.”

Executive Director, Katie Neubert

In 2011, Rick returned to Alter High School, this time in a development role, where he served as the Advancement Director. In this role, he raised over $1.7+ million a year in annual giving, scholarships, special events, a 3-phase capital campaign, and grant writing. After Covid-19 hit, Rick tied back into his recruiting experience and served as the Director of Career Services at the Modern College of Design.

Rick joined We Care Arts after a short stint at United Rehabilitation Services and now serves as the Director of Community Engagement. He is excited to work with our team and engage with the community to support our mission. In his free time, Rick continues to coach high school football, enjoys reading, working out, renovating his home, and spending time with family and friends.

Please join us in welcoming Rick to the We Care Arts team! We look forward to working with him to improve the lives of those we serve and engage with the community to make a positive impact.
