“Empowering Inclusivity: We Care Arts Receives Grant for New Bariatric Chair and TTW”.
We Care Arts (WCA) recently received funding from two local foundations. The Nick & Edna Weller Charities, Inc. provided grant funding to support the Transition to Work (TTW) program. TTW is a program that provides local high school students with job skills at no cost to the school district. During these 10-weeks of lessons students learn sequencing skills, project management, and the use of executive functioning skills.
The other grant received was from The Brighter Tomorrow Foundation. As the number of artist-clients that are served at WCA grows, we have noticed an increased need for bariatric-sized chairs. Having these chairs will allow people with disabilities and comorbidity issues a greater sense of dignity, safety, and comfort. The Brighter Tomorrow Foundation provided funding for WCA to purchase one of these chairs.
