We Care Arts and Employment Services Program Creating Opportunities

At the We Care Arts gift shop in the Town and Country Shopping Center, our employment services team is embracing summer vibes. As the weather warms, more people have been stopping by our shop, giving us more opportunities to share the skills and talents of our artist clients with the broader community. For the summer season and Father’s Day, our dedicated team of job coaches and retail associate clients has been busy cleaning, decorating, and displaying new products. We have bags, birdhouses, plant pots, t-shirts, and more! Be sure to check out our Artist of the Month as well. 

As part of our employment program, our retail associate clients have been learning about color theory, negative space, and collage to enhance their understanding of product display and marketing. For some of our exercises we utilize art to reinforce job skills related to creativity, planning, and perspective. Every client in our program has future goals of working in the community, and we strive to provide the necessary support and resources to encourage their passion. 

Our team’s favorite part of working at the shop is connecting with the community and discussing their favorite art pieces. The next couple months, our shop is looking forward to attending some community-based events with our pop-up shop.
