We are thrilled to announce that Lacey, an inspiring and passionate art instructor, will be stepping into the role of Art Curator at We Care Arts! Lacey has been an integral part of our community since April 2022 and brings a wealth of experience and creativity to this new position. Her dual role as both an art instructor and curator promises to enhance the vibrant artistic community we cherish.
A Journey of Passion and Artistry
Lacey's journey with We Care Arts began after she graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, focusing on Visual Communications. Her path led her to the world of graphic design, where she discovered a deep passion for non-profit work while working at a museum/gallery. This experience ignited her desire to use art as a means of connection and inspiration.
Upon moving back to Ohio, Lacey embraced a new chapter, welcoming her two daughters into her life. Her return to the workforce was marked by a decision to teach art—a role that allowed her to share her love for creativity with others. Her dedication and enthusiasm for art education made her an invaluable member of our team.
A Vision for the Future
As Lacey steps into the Art Curator role, she is eager to make a significant impact. Her responsibilities will include working closely with our artist-clients to jury art for exhibits and manage inventory for our gift shops. Her keen eye for art will ensure our galleries remain fresh and captivating.
Moreover, Lacey will actively collaborate with the community to discover opportunities for our artist-clients' work to be displayed in various spaces. She is also set to coordinate the Possibilities Project—an initiative dedicated to curating art for organizations, individuals, and businesses. Her vision is to establish an upscale gallery that provides a platform for our artist-clients to shine and to promote their work in local galleries and art shows.
A Personal Touch
Lacey is committed to amplifying the voices of our artist-clients within the Dayton art community. Her dedication to this mission is fueled by her personal passion for art and community engagement. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, thrifting, and watching soccer—a testament to her diverse interests and creative spirit.
We are excited to see Lacey's influence as she takes on this new role. Her commitment to highlighting the remarkable work of our artist-clients and building connections within the community will undoubtedly enrich the artistic culture at We Care Arts.
Join us in welcoming Lacey to her new position as Art Curator! We look forward to the innovative and inspiring contributions she will make in the coming years.
