Volunteer Opportunity: Public Speaking
Position Responsibilities
- Represent We Care Arts at various events throughout the community
- Speaking in front of crowds ranging from one on one contact to presentation in front of many people
- Pick up printed materials (i.e. brochures, old newsletters) for distribution at speaking event
- Pick up and return contact information sheet for attendees that are interested in further information or in getting involved with organization
- Communicate the programming and impact of We Care Arts and its client base
- Pick up laptop with presentation and any additional AV equipment when needed (most speaking engagements the host group will provide laptop/projector/speakers/mic, etc.)
- Ability to run a power point during presentation when needed
- Ability to run a video clip from video player or YouTube when needed
- Ability to answer questions that may arise
- Dedicated to We Care Arts’ mission
Requirements
- Comfort and/or willingness to speak in front of crowds of various sizes
- Knowledge of We Care Arts’ mission and programming
- Knowledge of We Care Arts’ impact on clients, volunteers, and community
- Basic computer knowledge, specifically Power Point, video player, and You Tube
- Basic AV set up knowledge
- Ability and willingness to meet the time commitment made to WCA
- Signing of volunteer waiver must be completed before any volunteer hours can be logged
- Ability and willingness to arrive 15 minutes before your shift starts
